For years, Brandon was perplexed by the way fashion industry professionals kept their knowledge compartmentalized, with the tailor focusing on fit and fabric; the assistant designer working in Illustrator and surrounded by tech packs; the tech designer preserving the bottom line by making sure the pattern fits together in the most efficient way; and designers not knowing how their sketches and dreams will translate to what people buy. Nobody he asked could satisfy his curiosity about the practical steps in transforming a sketch into a marketable reality.
