H&M Garden Collection - The illustrated perspective
We met each other on Trigwee and shared there together our common passion: fashion illustration. She was inspired and started to paint again and from there to create an inspiring project together was a simple step.
So, today I’ll share with you how me and my friend Andra Ghitulescu played a little bit with H&M Garden Collection.
First I’ll let you to enjoy Andra’s perspective of illustrating this awesome concept and to read what this collection inspired to her.
” I chose to illustrate some of the garments from this collection because I recently rediscovered my passion for fashion illustration, because I want to keep doing this and get better at it, because I loved the Look Book, because it inspired me, because I loved the visual concept … because it was a challenge for me.
I was inspired by the colors, the loose materials, the comfort, the optimism, the attitude and the concept!
For the illustrations I used traditional media - Colored pencils, markers, acrylic and watercolor.”
Here is my perspective:
“H&M has given me another reason to look with happiness to Spring. When I first saw this beautiful collection I was in love with the prints, colors, and the fascinating details on clothes. So this was the first trigger that inspired me to illustrate the collection. And the second trigger was given by Natasha Poly which has very expressive features that it’s impossible not to inspire you to illustrate her.
In my process of creation I used digital painting. I’ve worked on a graphic tablet in Adobe illustrator and I used only ink and watercolor brushes. I experienced a new style of illustrating the models by highlighting them with shadows and lights.”
