Fashion Illustrations and Street Art mixed together

I believe you remember Australian artist and illustrator Maryanne Oliver from my previous posts and from the Fashionarium Book where she collaborated with an inspiring tutorial on How to Paint Fashion Illustrations on your T-shirt.

Yesterday I was happy to hear fabulous news from Maryanne.

Recently she has ventured with New York street-artist Avone (of Brooklyn’s ‘Destroy & Rebuild’)  into  a collaborative project based on fashion illustrations mixed with street art.

The two very different, yet perfectly complementary artists began their unique partnership when Maryanne was in New York earlier this year have been blown away by the quality of the shared works and big response from their fans.\

“Neither of us had any idea how well we were going to work together, yet when we did it just flowed and came together without issues or conflict.  Sometimes we would just paint for 10 hours and say nothing, creating these pieces that would just fall beautifully in to place. I can’t wait to share this work with my hometown Brisbane, and The Fort is the perfect place to showcase it.” Maryanne says.

If it’s happen for you to be in Brisbane - Australia on October 28th - November 11th you shouldn’t miss their exhibition - The Brooklyn-Queensland Expressway Exhibition that will run at The Fort Arts Hub as part of the BARI (Brisbane Artist Run Initiatives) Festival.

I wish I can be there! Congrats my dear talented friend!
