It’s Play Time - Accesories made of painted wood

When I think of colors, I feel that it gives me energy, it can change my mindset.

This is what I felt when I discovered “Play Time”, a new collection of jewelry by Mihaela Zvinca which is based on vivid colors.

I was curious to find out the story behind the collection and how the pieces were made and I asked Mihaela to tell us some words on it:

The story behind: “Play Time is a collection of accessories made of painted wood, insulated with resin. The dominant pieces are square bracelets, but I also realized necklaces. I choose the wood, because I wanted to refer to wooden toys created for children.

Pieces are colorful, attractive, almost electrical, because I wanted to play, as children do when they reach a large box of pens from which they want to use all colors.

The forms I’ve played with are the cube and square, simple shapes and primary because they allows a variety of approaches.

Each piece is crafted to work as a piece of furniture: the wood was cut, sanded, glued, nailed, and sanded, ready for paint, colored differently on each facet, varnished then sealed with resin inside and out .

The process was long and painstaking work, but the result is spectacular and effective.

The advantage of this technique is that the object can get the effect so well finished, you realize that not what material was used;

The disadvantage is that the process is very long, a piece was completed in five days.

I simply loved how the accessories designed by Mihaela completed ”A Sweet Disregard ” SS 2012 Collection created by Bianca Popp: This two collections together have managed to send me a lot of emotions.

I think that ” A sweet Disregard by Bianca and Play Time by Mihaela Zvinca are mare to wear each other, this is why probably they have managed to go together at Nivea Fashion Week in Sarajevo.
