Fabricly for independent designers

As an independent designer myself, I took some time to search for online concept stores where to sell my creations. But not any concept stores. I wanted some to identify with my brand, my vision, my core values and who can help me promote my handbags to a worldwide target. This is how I found Fabricly.com, which is an online concept boutique which helps worldwide independent designers to gain exposure and promote their unique designs.

But how, exactly, Fabricly works?

The selection process of the designers

One of the things I remarked as being awesome on Fabricly is their immense care for the designers. To submit your designs for consideration, you need to contact them first at designers@fabricly.com and someone from their team will contact you to set up a meeting or a call. This is fantastic.

As a designer, is extremely important to talk directly with the people behind the concept store to learn how they work with designers and to create a stable and authentic relationship. So, from the beginning I felt that they really care for the designers they select.

I’ve talked with Ari Helgason, the Co-Founder of Fabricly and he told me more on how Fabricly works with designers: “Fabricly is a great way for emerging designers to gain exposure; our goal has always been to help designers get to the next level. We closely monitor how designers do and we share those numbers with the designer. It’s a great way for designers who mainly sell through brick and mortar retailers to get direct feedback from customers and get more insight into how fashion lovers shop for their creations.”

How Fabricly promotes designers?

Fabricly is highly curated; this means designers get an extra PR push. “We work closely with our network of fashion bloggers and press contacts to make this happen. We have a loyal blogger following and have gotten our best designers good press exposure. Fabricly paces the rate at which designers are launched to give each designer time to shine.” said Ari.

Fabricly get designers exposure in blog posts and major media outlets, media blasts, and events in New York City. See their press page for more.

How Fabricly can help designers to develop a collection?

In some cases Fabricly works with designers on developing and producing a full capsule collection of 8 - 12 styles. Ari said to me that Fabricly sometimes works with the designer from the concept of the collection and also they take care of sampling, fittings and ultimately production. Also he added that “We provide designers with everything they need to execute a collection from start to finish and then feature them in a tightly-curated collection of entirely exclusive goods for those who wants to pick and shop from.”

Fabricly for fashion lovers who shop online

Online shopping is a lot of things. Easy. Convenient. Reliable. Blah blah. But doesn’t the internet sometimes feel like one giant street with a ton of stores that carry a slight variety of the exact same brands, all right next door to each other? Like strolling through a mall of sameness, It’s hard to find something unique, something special. Fabricly is tailored to highlight the unique fashion around the world.

As a customer, I adore my going outs to stores, or designers’s studios, but I always loved being able to find new creators around the world with unique design aesthetics that are uncorrupted by the industry’s demand for trend-friendly merchandise.

So Fabricly is the place to go if you’re looking for a variety of beautifully designed garments that enables you to make a difference in a world where almost anyone wears mass-produced fashion.
